End of an Era and Moving details!!

Well the day has finally come - BBHQ have closed the doors for the very last time!

We'll be sad to see it go but have so many lovely memories of our time with you all over the last few years. We'll soon be starting our new adventures as mums so we'll carry on blogging when we can (we still think we'll have plenty of time to sew lalalalala)....

All orders placed today (25th of March) have been posted and we'll continue to monitor the
email account until the end of the month.

While we've been away....

Wow has it really been that long? My, my it seems like only yesterday - we have been bad! We are so sorry for our prolonged break from the blog-o-sphere ladies but we do have a bit of an excuse as a few things have been going on to keep us busy....

For starters this happened....

Which as you can appreciate took up a little bit of our time ;)

We have also been busy shopping, planning and shopping some more for our upcoming Block of the Month Project - "Down in the Garden" by Leanne Beasley which will use the brand new gorgeous fabric range "Grandmother's Flower Garden" designed by Rosaie Quinlan! We are so excited about this project and can't wait to get hold of the patterns so we can get started on our frist new project of 2010!!

Can you believe we have also found a bit of time for some of our own projects so we'll be back very soon with pics to share.

Looks like rain..

Hello - here we are standing on the edge of a wonderful long weekend.  Yey!  As is customary with the Bank Holiday, the British weather will make quite sure that any plans we have which involve the outside are kept firmly on tenterhooks!   I've decided that this weekend I will welcome the rain - for one, if we're trapped inside it will mean that we have no choice but to sew!  Not our fault is it?  A little creativity is long overdue on my part - especially since i've been nursing this basket of gorgeousness for a while now (oh it is lethal going to shows!)

Secondly, the rain does rather make this "green and pleasant land" exactly that - green and pleasant!  Earlier this week, I escaped from my desk in my lunch break and went on a little bike ride around and about where we live.  Sunny Suffolk (and it was on that day - look at that sky!) is just BURSTING with "green and pleasant" at the moment and I thought I'd share some of it with you...

I must admit to being slightly worried about my washing on the line when I saw that cloud..

   

Yup, all in, I think i'll try NOT to complain about the rain when it arrives this weekend :o)  Whatever you are doing, have a lovely time!

Facelift?

Ok don't get excited, we're not talking botox here.... knowing our luck if we dabbled in such areas our faces would melt as we were bent over the craft iron!! We're talking spring time, spring cleaning - we think the Buttonberry Blog needed a little redecoration, a new coat of paint , you catch our drift?

We're thinking bright and fresh what about these for inspiration?

We're loving the polkas so we're leaning towards PINK! What do you all think, opinions on a pretty postcard please! xxxxx

Happy Mother's Day

To all you mums out there, you know who are - you're the ones putting everyone else before yourself, always helping even though you may not feel like it and always being there with a cup of tea and shoulder to cry on! So thank you, and we hope today is a lovely one - Remember - SIT Down, don't run around after anyone!!

I thought i would show you a little photo of the gift i made my mum this year, she's been hankering after a hanging for her new hall for sometime now so i thought Mother's Day would be the perfect time to oblige! Now i'll be honest and say i bought the hanger for her over a year ago so she has been veeeeery patient - Thank you Mum!

It was lovely to make and relatively easy if i do say so myself even though i did change the design about 4 times in the middle of making it - a big no, no, but what the hey don't us ladies reserve the right to change our mind at any point???!

Hearts, Flowers and...

Cake!! I'm very easily pleased and low maintenance i like to think, a nice cuppa with a slice of cake is all i need! well, ahem that is all i need at this particular moment... i mean who knows what i might need in a minute or tomorrow... a girl needs options!

Anyway i digress, yes it's valentines day & I hope you are all having a fantastic time out there, filled with smiles and romance.....How many of you had a red enveloped card plop on the doormat this morning? hmmm?  Mine was magic as the postie managed to get it all the way upstairs on to my pillow, fancy that. I'm pretty sure it was from my long suffering boyfriend and not a secret admirer,  at least i hope it was else my postie has some explaining to do!

Well i thought i would just pop by to share some buttonberry love, let us know what romantic surprises you all had!! We've already had one customer's husband sign her up to on of our BOM's for Valentines, now that fella's, is TRUE LOVE.

Happy New Year!!

Best wishes for health and happiness in 2008 to everyone out there! We hope you all had a fabulous time seeing in the new year and aren't nursing too many hangovers today ;)

This first year for us as been a fabulous one and we simply can't wait to see what the new year holds for us, we have plenty of things planned and our new years resolution (apart from finishing all those UFO's and being domestic godesses - ahem) is to get 'out and about' to more events to meet all of you! We had so much fun at Chilford that we think we deserve just as much fun, more often!! Now we've made our pledge we hope the rest of you will too, so spill the beans, what are all your resolutions?

Sweet Smelling Post...

Hello!  We've been quiet, we know but we have excellent excuses.  One of us has been living the jet set lifestyle and swanning around New York with an empty suitcase to fill, the other has been languishing
in bed after a run-in with a surgeon (sadly not McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy).  We are however, back and we have stuff to show you!

Firstly, we were absolutely over the moon to receive this through our door...

It was wrapped in brown paper and had come all the way from New Zealand.  We were very VERY excited!  Even before we opened it, the gorgeous scent of lavender was wafting through Buttonberry Mansion (we've gone up in the world) and we knew we were in for a treat.

Look what we got!  Look!  This is from the lovely Kerriann who is a clever lady who supplies her beautiful hand made hearts to the 'Redcurrent stores' in NZ.  It's fantastic to see what happens to the stacks of fabric which keep finding their way from us to her!  We absolutely love it and just wish you could smell it because it is divine!  We also got a very beautiful hand made card.  It was just wonderful to receive.

Moving is NOT fun

At the moment we are trying to move house.  Both of us, independently.  It is not fun.  Each time we attempt to put anything in a box, the phone rings and it's all off.  Then it rings again and it's not.  It is difficult to retain any kind of inspiration for anything - least of all packing!  I hate to say it but my creativity - such as it is - is totally zapped!  So instead of attempting to make something, i cut some things up!  I suppose you could argue that I have MADE these bundles but it was the therapeutic slicing which i enjoyed most!!!  Sound scary yet??  Actually I've quite liked making bundles and all over our wrecked, not packed house are little groups of bolts which look nice together. Oh and empty wine bottles but that's a blog for a different day.....Anyway, i like fat quarter bundles and this lot cheered me up and even actually made me want one (of the Chelsea Boutique ones) for myself!!  If we ever move, there will be room for a sewing room all of my own.  That's what's keeping me going.  That and the wine....

"It's Raining, It's Pouring!"

Oh don't you just hate the rain? If we all sing loud enough it might stop! I know my strawberries are probably loving it but my wispy locks are not happy at all - what a frizzz heeeeed i have. Well at least i can't go outside and scare people. On the plus side rainy weekends mean not stop craftage  - which certainly helps put a smile on my face! This weekend i have been mostly making a nice pendant for a necklace made from handcrafted beads.... a handmade 'cupcake' card for my Auntie's Birthday.... & i've even had a little flurry of design inspiration for Eric and other crafty creations... watch this space! Uh-oh...I'm thinking we are going to need a lot more rain for all these ideas to become reality.........
