Hello! Do you remember us? Sorry we've been a bit "spare" with the ol' blogging of late. Honestly promise that we've had good reason and hopefully by the end of this post you'll forgive us because we're giving stuff away! We're not proud - we are happy to buy your friendship!
We've been busy restocking (a way of making "having a ball shopping for new stuff" sound professional and not nearly as much fun as it really is!) See how well we did it? See?
Whilst shopping, we picked up this bolt and literally cuddled it for most of the day.
It is just glorious. What is it with vegetables on fabric? We just love it! Anyway, an executive meeting was held over the purchasing of this particular fabric. Which is to say Lisa and I stood for a while in the aisle and I whined and pleaded and she asked for good reason and examples of what we would use this fabric for. Thankfully my capacity for whining is greater than Lisa's capacity for listening to it so the bolt has come home with us.
As we've been absent for so long we thought we'd bribe you back to liking us by offering a little competition. Why don't you leave us a comment with your ideas of what you'd make with this fabric and we'll pick a winner next week. We'll send the winner a half metre with our compliments so you can start to put your idea into practice!
For now though, we better get back to playing with all this new fabric. Sigh...
Hi, I would make a lovely roman blind for my kitchen but if it had to be a sensible project how about lining wicker baskets and letting a good couple of inches show on the outside of the basket too.

I think it would be darling as a re-useable grocery bag...just too fun!

I just love green, and would like to use it as a picture with a dark green frame in the middle of a green grocery bag. A purse for the coins will be nice too.

I think they look great as an cover on the lid, of vegetables in glass jars. Imagine a row of jars with these covers on your kitchenshelf...
For example: http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previews/759/233590.JPG
And a small blind of the same fabric on the shelf of course!

I would use to make a table runner and napkins. The green matches the new green walls in my kitchen.

I'd make a notice board for the kitchen, frame some or i think it would look fab made into an apron.

I'm imagining how much I could squeeze out of half a metre. Oven gloves, apron ties on a linen apron (perhaps with pea embroidery), trim for plain t-towels... Oh yes, there's much joy to be had from those little peas. I applaud your begging!

I would love an apron made out of this fabric. It would also be great as napkins and a runner in the kitchen!

That's one of those fabrics that would make a great "theme" type gift. It could star in an apron and/or tablerunner, then scraps and bits and pieces could decorate matching tea towels, hotpads and mug rugs. One of the tea towels could be folded to become the gift bag, and the selvage could be used as the ribbon to tie it!

Well...I think that I would just have to cuddle it all day too! then, I think it would have to feature on an apron, pocket, frills etc. If there was a little left over, a pan holder too!!

I thought you could cover a basket or make fabric baskets (this one for fresh veggies) and a fruit fabric for a fruit basket! You could even string them together to make them hanging baskets.

I would make my 5 year old son a zipper purse with it so that when his school has their FORTNIGHTLY CAKE SALE to raise funds and sew "I should be eating these instead" on it!!

I would use it with some denim or linen to make a gardening apron for my new allotment. Lots of pretty pockets for twine, seeds and so on.

Mmm, wide binding for placemats. So you can look at it, but not worry too much about dribbling tomato soup on it!

Well, I've thought long and hard about this as so many good ideas have already been suggested. I'd have to be a little brutal and cut some strips of peas and some pods out of the fabric, oh and probably some chillis and cherries from my fabric stash. I'd then make a funky fruit & veg mobile using twine, wire, funky beads and buttons. (Could make some beads & buttons from the fabrics too)

I've been toying woth the idea of little drawstring bags for the fruit and veg at the supermarket instead of the little plastic bags on offer - this would be perfect!
Some great ideas from others - might have to buy sme anyway!

I can think of lots of ideas...how about as background fabric to some fabulous appliqué or complemented with other fabrics it make a beautiful journal cover for all those recipes that have vegetables :o)

I'd have to make it into an allotment themed quilt or use it as a border for an allotment stitchery - I've been trying to plan a quilt like this for the last few years and one of my sewing friends who also has the allotment next to me has just designed her own allotment stitchery - It's beautiful!

Hi ladies,
well that would be simple!
I would make a little wallhanging with that fabric for in my new kitchen. I just moved to a new house, so that would suit a new kitchen perfectly and make it all nice and homy!

Well, this is exactly the right kind of fabric for the wallhanging I am planning to make of the allotment stitchery from Lynette Anderson.
So I would be very glad to receive the half metre, ofcourse if I win.

I think I'd have to use it for a tea cosy. Just so classy!

I hope, I would be the lucky winner! Because this fabric would be great for a nice bag.
