Road Trip!!
Our mood here at BBHQ is – to put it mildly - VERY EXCITED INDEED!
WHY? Because we have just retuned from our second annual (or bi-annual as we hope to make it) trip to the Netherlands to visit one of our suppliers and purchase some lovely treats on your behalf - we’re so good to you aren’t we?!!!
Look, a genuine Dutch windmill!! Sorry about the quality of the picture but it was taken from a moving vehicle at 6 in the morning!
In a truly selfless act of kindness we hooked up the Buttonberry wagon, sailed the seven seas (well one of them) and navigated our way (we only got lost once) to a HUGE warehouse jam packed to the rafters with bolts and bolts and bolts and bolts (you get the general idea) of gorgeous fabric. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it!!
Our main objective was to find fabrics for our upcoming block of the month projects, and find it we did! We found so much lovely stuff that within what seemed like minutes we had dashed round the aisles like mad things, filled two trolleys.............
.....and had to go and sit down with tea and cake to get our breath back!
After we had recovered our composure we sorted through the mountains and narrowed our selection down to only the very loveliest and most beautiful fabrics.
It wasn’t an easy task but we wanted everyone who has signed up to our block of the month projects to be truly delighted with their parcel of goodies when it plops onto the doormat every month. We are certainly very excited about it all and we hope you are too!
We managed to narrow it down so much that we could even see over the top to find our way to the checkout!

Oh, I nearly forgot. There was a special guest at the open day that made the trip especially exciting for me as this person was the reason I started quilting in the first place. Kaffe Fassett was there and I couldn’t believe I was actually going to be able to meet him. I read a magazine article about him when I was young and loved his work so much I bought one of his books and off I went!!
Anyway, we spotted him sitting in a little side room, chatting and happily knitting! We stood outside pretending to look at books and sneaking a peek at him through the window. We shopped, we shopped, we drank tea, we ate cake, we shopped, we shopped, we shopped, we ate lunch and decided we would try and pluck up the courage to ask Kaffe to let us have our picture taken with him, we shopped, we shopped, we shopped, we shopped, we had a cup of afternoon tea, we shopped, and we shopped some more. Exhausted, we queued up to pay for our loot and then...... Kaffe had gone home, we’d missed him. Oh. No. We were so distracted by all the loveliness that we let him slip away!!!

Oh it sounds like you had a fab time shopping - never mind about Kaffe, as long as you brought home lots of yummy fabrics for me - I mean all your customers - that's all that matters really!!

So.... when will this yumminess be on your shop site for purchase?!? I am just about hyperventilating from having looked at the warehouse photo. It would be like a dream and they'd have to drag me out at closing time!
